MANILA — Several local government units have agreed to postpone classes on Monday to allow for the required rehabilitation in regions severely damaged by Tropical Storm Kristine.
Classes in the following regions are suspended:
San Luis, Batangas (All levels, public and private, modular classes only)
Talisay, Batangas (Elementary and High School, public and private, modular classes only)
Lemery, Batangas (All levels, until Oct. 31)
Calaca, Batangas (All levels, face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)
Nasugbu, Batangas (All levels, face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)
Noveleta, Cavite (All levels, public, modular classes until Oct. 30)
Binan, Laguna (All levels, public and private)
Severe Tropical Storm Kristine has killed at least 90 people, however that number is still being verified.
The NDRRMC reported that 5,784,298 people, or 1,415,438 families, were affected nationwide. The Bicol Region alone has 2.5 million people, followed by Central Luzon (936,951) and Eastern Visayas (685,049).
In Muslim Mindanao’s Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, around 488,000 people were affected as well.
More than 91,000 families have trooped to evacuation centers, while over 48,000 are taking shelter nearby.
