The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration has officially announced the opening of its OWWA Scholarship Program for the academic year 2025-2026, is offering financial assistance of up to Php60,000 per school year to eligible college students who are dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
In a recent announcement on OWWA Facebook Page, OWWA encouraged all interested and qualified students, who are either children or dependents of OFWs, to prepare their application documents for the upcoming scholarships.
The online application period for both the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) will be open from November 4 to November 29, 2024.
Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
The OWWA EDSP Scholarship provides financial support to eligible dependents of single, active OWWA members.
Scholarship Benefits:
Financial assistance of Php60,000 per academic year until completion of a 4- to 5-year baccalaureate course.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be single.
- Age requirements: under 21 years for incoming 1st-year students and under 30 years for students in 2nd to 5th year.
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Philippine-based college or university.
- For Grade 12 students: a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or equivalent.
- For college students (2nd to 5th year): a GWA of at least B grade or 85%.

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
The OWWA CMWSP Scholarship also provides financial assistance of Php60,000 per school year for eligible OFW dependents pursuing a baccalaureate degree.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be single.
- Age requirements: under 21 years for incoming 1st-year students and under 30 years for students in 2nd to 5th year.
- Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college or university.
- Must have a GWA of at least 80% with no failing grades or rank within the top 20% of the graduating class.
- Family’s annual gross income must not exceed Php76,000 or $2,400.
- Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships.
Required Documents for Application
- Proof of identity
- Grade report from the previous school
- Photocopy of birth certificate
- Two 2×2 ID photos with name tags
- Photocopy of Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
- Original copy of affidavit indicating no other dependents
- Proof of enrollment

- The online portal opens on November 4, 2024, and the deadline is November 29, 2024.
Qualifying Exam Date:
- Scheduled for April 5-6, 2025.
